We have investigated many different technologies and have found that different tools work for different occasions. Please see the Tools and Methods pages to see what is available in EAIT.

The DiagramsOnline project started in 2009 when the EAIT faculty awarded a grant to Dr Julie McCredden and Dr Tom Baldock in Civil Engineering, so as to investigate methods for creating digital records of problem solving and free body diagrams etc, and the ability to share these online.

Engineering was in need of visual methods as much of the teaching uses diagrams and equations. Thus the previous text-based sharing methods such as discussion boards were of limited use to teachers. Since that time, the iPad and many other handheld devices along with their colorful and visual apps  have appeared and become ubiquitous. Thus the ability to share diagrams over the internet has started to blossom as the shift from text-based to visual-based communication gains momentum.
